What is Endodontics?
Endodontics is the branch of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the dental pulp. The dental pulp is the soft tissue that lies at the center of the tooth and contains the blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue that support the tooth. Endodontists are specially trained to treat conditions affecting the dental pulp. They use a variety of techniques to diagnose and treat these conditions, including root canal therapy, pulpotomy, and pulpectomy.
